Comic and writer Alex Barnett is the White, Jewish husband of a Black woman (who converted to Judaism) and the father of a 6-year-old, Biracial son. Join him and his guests each episode as they discuss the issues that confront multiracial people and multiracial families (including the dynamics between members of the same family who are of different races).

Within the Multiracial Community, Alex is active as a performer and advocate.  Alex was a featured performer at the 2012 New Orleans Loving Festival, the 2015 Mixed-Remixed Festival in Los Angeles, and the 2016 Blend Conference at Cornell University.

Alex is the co-founder of Multiracial Media (http://multiracialmedia.com/) a website that showcases the voices of the Multiracial Community.

Alex also is the co-creator of the comic strip, The Bronze Panther, about a four-year-old, biracial superhero.

Alex has performed at clubs, colleges and venues throughout the country.  He's appeared on the Katie Couric Show, been featured on Sirius/XM Radio’s “Raw Dog Comedy,” and NBC’s EVB Live, and in VH1.com, The Wall Street Journal, The Huffington Post, and CNN.com.

Ep. 215: Cory Jarvis is a stand-up comedian, actor, and writer living in New York City. He performs nightly at comedy clubs, as well as independent shows, all over the city.

Cory has appeared on the Travel Channel, AXS TV, Funny or Die, and in a national Diet Coke commercial. His writing has been featured on EpicThings.com, Best Week Ever creator’s App “This Just In,” and Metropolis Magazine. His story about starting comedy in Tokyo was featured in Reader’s Digest, and he recently wrote and directed a comedic short movie about the people who dress as characters in Times Square. He was selected by the Writer’s Guild of America for an exclusive yearlong writer’s fellowship which will culminate in him pitching the screenplay and sitcom he’s working on. He was also named one of GoodDeedSeats.com’s top 40 up-and-coming comedians, and was selected to headline world famous Caroline’s Comedy Club. Cory’s comedy festival credits include the Laughing Devil Festival (2014), New York Comedy Festival (2013, 2014) Hoboken Comedy Festival (2014, 2015), and Laughing Skull Festival (2016).

He also is an Air Force Veteran, lover of all things burrito, dance master never, and a rabid Sci-Fi dork.

Cory is also part of a multiracial family.  His wife is Japanese, and he and his wife are parents to one child and expecting another.  So, listen as Cory talks about the Multiracial, Multicultural family life they are living.
